Heartbeat Braves is an Audiobook!

I was given the opportunity to turn Heartbeat Braves into an audiobook using digital narration.

I understand all the concerns about using digital narrators. I would LOVE to record my books with Indigenous voices but I don’t have the skills or resources to make that happen.

I wrung my hands and thought about it for quite some time and decided to go for it.

It’s available via the Apple Books app:

Heartbeat Braves.

I just finished listening to it. Madison does a good job but here are a few funny mispronunciations like when Linda tells them to polish their resumes and she says Polish, like of the country Poland. I also hear some typos and awkward sentences.

But I think it came out great. I hope people who prefer to consume their romance via audiobooks will give it a try.

I would love to hear your feedback.

2023 — I’m Still Here

Snow Day

Hello Friends. I am still here.

It has been a tough few months personally and also this website was broken behind the scenes and took awhile to unravel.

I had this picture set aside months ago when I thought I could post again but then things were delayed. It’s spring now.

I’m happy people are still finding the books and I appreciate all your notes and comments.

I am working on new books and hope to have news soon.

Thanks for sticking with me.

Maybe News Soon

Check out this skunky noodling around my backyard and creating a home under the shed. There’s a motion light that’s supposed to scare him off but it has completely failed to do its job. What a fluffy tail.

I wouldn’t get too excited but I have a bunch of new stuff I’m working on. One is a contemporary romance — not Crooked Rock — but in the same spirit. I also have a couple of other stories in various states that have some romantic elements or fun Indigenous characters.

Updates as they become available.

Raven Reads on Instagram

I can’t believe I never posted this. I was fortunate enough to be invited by Erin and Dani of Raven Reads to do a Romance Author Q&A. Author Maggie Blackbird participated, too.

Here’s the replay. It took me awhile to get on because I am bad at social media and couldn’t figure out which button to click. hehe. Also that screencap really captures my essence. ha.

Book Four Crooked Rock Braves is out!

Book 4 is out there and available everywhere. This story wraps up all the open storylines. All your questions answered.

If you missed it, there’s a free prequel short story about Linda and Arnie in college. Not mandatory but there’s a little setup that gets paid off in Book 4:
Not Your Mascot: pdf | mobi | epub

Blurb:

Linda and Arnie are the should have been that never happened.

Linda Bird has poured her heart into building a community for Indians in the city, but the setbacks keep coming and her supporters are losing faith. In college, Arnie Jackson was a sexy-but-aggravating rival. Now she needs his help if Crooked Rock is going to succeed. Turns out he’s still sexy, he’s still aggravating, and she’s never gotten over him.

Arnie has dealt with every challenge Indian Country has thrown at him, but nothing could have prepared him for the accusations that bring his leadership into question. Linda has been his most loyal friend—equal parts stubborn and dazzling—and she’s the only one he trusts to help him through this crisis.

They have always been right for each other, but it’s never been the right time—until now.

Huge thanks to everyone that made the launch a success. Hope you enjoy the book.

We Are Days Away

Orleans Bridge, Klamath River, CA

We are days away from Book 4 and all your questions about Crooked Rock will be answered.

After all these books I finally learned how to do a preorder and your links are here:

Kindle | Nook | Apple | Kobo

The process for doing paperbacks is easier but I still want to see a copy before I hit the publish button on that. It should be available Thursday or Friday.

If you haven’t read the prequel short story, take care of that now. It’s not mandatory but there’s a little set-up that gets paid off in Book Four. Links for that here:

Not Your Mascot pdf | mobi | epub

Thanks again to all my supporters. I appreciate you all.

Hope you enjoy the book.

The Countdown Begins

Unless some unexpected snafu comes up Arnie and Linda’s story will be up next week.

Crooked Rock Braves (Book 4) wraps up all the open story lines.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you might want to read a short prequel story about Linda and Arnie in college: Not Your Mascot.

I can’t wait to get this book out and into your hands.

Crooked Rock Book Four: Coming Soon

I’m still on track to get Book Four out in May. I’m afraid to put an exact date because some parts of the process are out of my control.

Book 4 is Linda and Arnie.

Here is the blurb:

I wrote a prequel short story about Linda and Arnie in college — if you subscribe to the newsletter you can get your hands on it immediately. If you don’t like subscribing to newsletters, don’t worry. I will have it up on the website eventually.

Drop Another Daffodil

Daffodils are here. These are in the front of the house. More are starting to come in out back.

Manuscript is off to first readers. Right now I’m estimating I can have it out mid-May. I’ll post the cover and blurb at the beginning of next month.
